Terms and Conditions

To keep everyone right and things fair, we have some terms and conditions to consider before applying for a Fife Business Award;

  • The Fife Business Awards are free to enter.
  • Your organisation does not have to be a member of Fife Chamber of Commerce to enter.
  • A permanent office in Fife is not required to enter but applications will only be accepted from organisations with staff who are in Fife regularly to deliver projects or manage customers here.
  • You do not have to be nominated for an award: you can nominate yourself, although any business who is nominated must accept their nomination and complete an application.
  • You can apply for more than one award (but we would suggest no more than 3)
  • Nominations and applications will open on FRIDAY 10th NOVEMBER
  • Nominations and applications close at MIDNIGHT on MONDAY 15th JANUARY. Any applications received after this time will not be accepted.
  • Award category sponsors are not permitted to enter the category that they are sponsoring but they can enter other categories and will be judged on the same basis as other applicants
  • Applicants must be authorised to enter their organisation for an Award.
  • Applications are treated in confidence but will be shared with the judges.
  • Incomplete applications will not be judged.
  • Applications should be in English.
  • Completed applications will only be accepted if submitted online.
  • Applications will be acknowledged on receipt.
  • Applications will become the property of Fife Chamber of Commerce and will not be returned.
  • The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The winner will be announced at the Award Ceremony on 7th June 2024 at the Old Course Hotel.
  • Winning entries will be publicised. If you are selected as a finalist you will be asked to provide your logo in a high-resolution format for promotional purposes. A brief description of your business may also be included in the Award Ceremony programme: the text for this will be uplifted from your application form and any sensitive information will be removed.
  • Your video will be shared on social media and other FBA communications and will be featured at the Award Ceremony.
  • Winners may be requested to participate in post-event publicity.
  • The organisers reserve the right to withdraw an Award from any applicant supplying false information within their entry. Judges reserve the right to audit any information supplied.
  • By registering for the Fife Business Awards you agree to these terms and conditions.
  • By submitting an application, you agree that your details can be shared with Fife Business Awards sponsors and immediate partners.

The Judging Proccess

  • First, all applications will be sent to judges to independently score and then all applicants will be invited to an in-person meeting with the judges to discuss your application in more detail. This will take place JAN/FEB 2024
  • At least one of the judges will do a site visit to the shortlisted applicants to learn more about their business. These site visit will take place during MARCH 2023. When the judges visit you will be asked to record a piece to camera saying what it would mean to win an Award. This is a key element of the event production as the video will be used when announcing finalists at the Awards Ceremony.
  • You must be available during the weeks notified for the site visit and the meeting with the judges. Your application will not be considered further if you are not able to comply with these dates.
  • Every effort will be made to give you sufficient notice of the date/time of your site visit/meeting with the judges
